We have provided the following details of how to prepare and what you can expect before our team arrives:
If you are lifting your current carpet and underlay yourself, both must be fully pulled up and taken out of the room before our arrival. For vinyl fittings, any existing carpet, underlay, and grippers must be removed. Grippers must be taken up as they can affect the vinyl fitting process.
Need help with uplift? We can uplift and dispose of your existing flooring (carpet and/or underlay) for an additional cost. Please let us know in advance if you’d like to add this service.
Any cables that are laid or currently under the carpet cannot be guaranteed to remain safe during the fitting process. If there are any cables under the carpet or being installed, please ensure the fitting team is made aware so we can take the necessary precautions.
We will always do our best to avoid damaging paintwork. However, please ensure that your skirting boards are painted correctly before the fitting. If the paint is not properly adhered, the carpet installation process could cause the paint to chip or scratch off, especially during tucking.
To check the paint’s durability: Run a fingernail across the facing of the skirting. If the paint comes off easily, it is likely to peel during the fitting.
To ensure a solid finish: we recommend following the instructions on the gloss tin:
Please make sure the room is completely empty. All furniture, personal belongings, and breakables must be removed prior to fitting.
If any issues are identified (e.g., excessive moisture, uneven subfloor, or damaged subfloor), we will inform you immediately. Additional charges may apply to resolve such issues. If the floor needs levelling or feather edging, the fitter will not be able to fit the carpet or vinyl until the necessary floor prep is completed. If you currently have carpet down, please check that the floor is perfectly flat, as any unevenness may affect the fitting process.
Our fitters require unrestricted access to the room being carpeted. If there are stairs, narrow hallways, or other access restrictions, please make us aware so we can bring the necessary equipment.
Our fitters cannot begin work unless the room is properly prepared as outlined above.
Failure to prepare the space may result in rescheduling and additional charges.
Moisture Issues: If the floor has excessive moisture or any signs of dampness, we cannot proceed with fitting the carpet. This is to prevent damage to the carpet or mold growth. If you suspect a moisture issue, please address it prior to installation.
Delays Due to Preparation: If the room is not properly prepared (e.g., furniture not cleared, carpet or underlay not removed, skirting boards not painted or in poor condition), this may cause delays. Any delays caused by inadequate preparation may result in rescheduling or additional charges to cover extra time or labor.
Endrolls will not be responsible for any claims, damages, or issues arising from improper preparation, hidden defects, or failure to disclose existing conditions (e.g., cables, moisture, subfloor issues) prior to the fitting. You are responsible for ensuring the room is fully prepared and ready for carpet fitting as outlined above.
